  Baumholder Reunion history

The Baumholder reunion brings together people who were stationed at the Baumholder army post in Germany during the approximate period 1967 - 1974 . The men were all officers in the Army, the women, teachers in the schools on post. Many couples met there and got married.

The idea of a reunion originated with Bette Lynch who suggested to Meg and Pete Kerber (Pete would describe it as harrassment) that Chicago would be a central location for such a gathering. The Kerbers finally agreed to host the event and in July of 1984, the first Baumholder Reunion took place.

Since then, reunions have celebrated the lasting friendships that were forged. Initially, the reunions occurred every five years, planned around the July 4th weekend. However, with the passage of time marked loss of hair of some members ... but never a flagging spirit ... the gatherings occur at more frequent intervals and varying times of the year.
